Our Policies

Midwest Elite Academy – Policies, Procedures, & Rules

Our Instructors & Safety:

At Midwest Elite Academy, we are committed to providing a safe and fun environment where each student athlete is encouraged to progress at his/her own pace. In order to fulfill this commitment, we have taken necessary measures to ensure that we provide qualified and well trained instructors, coaches, and staff.

All of our Instructors and Coaches go through full background checks. All of our Head Instructors are trained in First Aid and CPR. We provide continuing education in athletic skills, life-skills, and mental strengths training to all of our instructors to help insure Midwest Elite Academy stays up to date with all of the newest skills, techniques, and training. This allows us to provide high quality instruction to all students. All of our Head Instructors and Head Coaches are being certified in their area of expertise. For cheer, the United States All-Star Federation (USASF), for tumbling through the United States of America Gymnastics (USAG), and the National Dance Education Organization (NDEO) for dance. Midwest Elite Academy is currently working towards becoming a certified and accredited studio through all 3 organizations.

All of our Junior Instructors and Coaches are actively participating in our proprietary Junior Training Program. These Junior Instructors and Coaches will work side by side with the Head Instructors and work hands on with the student athletes. They go through many stages of the program which include training, shadowing, subbing, and eventually graduating from the program and teaching their own classes. Spaces in the program are limited. If your child is interested in our Junior Training Program, please contact the office or email us at admin@midwesteliteacademy.com for further details. Must be 16 or older and have a cheerleading, dance, or tumbling background to apply.

While these standards will help ensure a safe environment at our facility, we must also ask parents and students to abide by our Rules and Policies:

Parent Portal

Every family must create an online Parent Portal. We communicate with parents primarily via the Parent Portal. Parent Portal allows for seamless communication with the office and instructors, a convenient place to receive all information, options to enroll and pay for classes online, receive monthly newsletters, and easy registration for events. Please check your Parent Portal at least once a week for updates! You can create your Parent Portal by clicking the “Parent Portal” button in the top right-hand corner of our website homepage.

To Set Up Your Parent Portal:

1.Click on the “Parent Portal” button in the top right corner of our home page. http://www.midwesteliteacademy.com

2. The Parent Portal Home Page will open.

3. Click the “Forgot your password or need to get started” link under the sign in button to set up your password and log onto the Parent Portal.

Parking and Safety

Students who are getting picked-up by their parent must wait inside of the studio for their ride. Students six and under will wait with a staff member for their parent to arrive. Parents need to come inside to pick up children six or younger.

It is not necessary for parents to stay while your child is in class. However, if you would like to stay, we have a large comfy seating area with free Wi-Fi for you to relax while your child is in class.

Students must wait in the lobby for their class instructor before entering the dance room or gym.
No students are allowed on any of the equipment without instructor supervision.

Three-Semester Schedule

Midwest Elite Academy runs off of a 3 semester schedule. Our Fall Semester runs from August-December. Our Spring Semester runs from January-May. Our Summer Semester runs June-July.

This specific scheduling structure allows for more convenient and flexible scheduling options. It also gives each athlete the chance to progress at her/his own pace, by giving them additional opportunities to advance to the next level faster than the traditional schedules that run for the entire school year.

Make-up Classes

If your child misses a class due to sickness, school or personal conflict, holiday or snow day, he or she can attend a make-up class in any age/level appropriate class on the schedule. You can schedule a make-up class with the office. For competitive programs, make-up classes are not offered.

Class Drop Policy

If your child will be dropping a class, please notify the front desk in person or by emailing Admin@midwesteliteacademy.com before the first of the month, otherwise we will continue to bill you for all classes in which your child is enrolled.

Gym Closings

Midwest Elite Academy will close for Labor Day Weekend, Halloween, Thanksgiving Weekend, Winter Break, Spring Break, Memorial Day Weekend, and Fourth of July. Inclement weather determinations will be made by 3:00 PM and will be posted to our website, gym voicemail, Facebook & Twitter, and the Parent Portal. We do not prorate monthly tuition rates due to holidays or inclement weather days. Tuition is based on a four week month with no adjustments for months that include five classes or months when classes meet only three times due to holidays.

Food & Drinks

Food and drinks are only allowed in the lobby area, never in the gym area. NO gum is allowed in the studio at any time. While we do have a water cooler, we do encourage all students to bring a water bottle to class with their name clearly marked on it.

Personal Belongings

We provide cubbies for students to store their belongings during class.
We have a Lost & Found located in the lobby.  Items that are not retrieved from Lost and Found will be donated to charity at the end of each Session.
Students are discouraged from bringing valuable belongings to class.
Midwest Elite Academy is not liable for any lost or stolen items.

Cell Phone Policy

We have a strict NO cell phone policy for student athletes during class time. During class, cell phones must be left in the lobby. Students will not be permitted to use their phone at any time during class, even during drink breaks, unless it is an emergency or we have notice of an extenuating circumstance ahead of time.
